5A MUST HAVE FOR SUNNY AND RAINY DAY OUTDOOR EVENTS!!!Jul 28, 2010
OMG...we are so glad to have purchased this 10x15 for an event on last weekend in July, 2010. The size accomodates two 10x3 tables and chairs on both sides. Originally bought to shade the food and people from the sun, but it also worked very well when the weather decided to turn from sunny to torrential winds and down-pour rain! Thankfully this heavy-duty canopy handled very well; the food and people sitting under it didn't get wet, and believe me it was raining pretty hard and wind blowing chip bags onto the floor. We had the height setting on the lowest. This tent looks great, too!

It's not that hard to set up or put away, but of course it's easier if you have more than two people...this way the two people don't have to keep running back and forth with pulling or pushing the support-legs little by little. The frame is designed like an accordian, with separate canopy and heavy-duty stakes that go right into the holes on the base of the poles. The bag it comes with fits quite snug so you have to be more precise with storing it away, and we kept the cardboard box that came with it inside to prevent banging for future use/storage. What's great about the bag is that there are wheels on one end so that you can drag rather than carry the whole thing.

We're going camping soon and look forward to using it then!! In the future if we need another one for larger events, I would definitely purchase a second one! I feel I got my money's worth!!!

4Good BuyMay 27, 2010
We bought this item for a BBQ Cook off in west Texas. Set up Friday am and took down Sunday am. There were steady 30 mph winds with gust up to 40. The one thing I did in addition to anything supplied, was use 4-2ft, 1/2" rebar (instead of the small stakes provided)for each of the 4 corner tie downs. Pound them in with only 6" above ground! Also, on each corner post, at the connection where you raise the canopy to the highest level, I used zip ties to hold a 1ft, 1x2 piece of wood to brace the post so it would not buckle. At the highest level, the small section inserts into the large section by only a couple if inches. That is just not sturdy enough. For outing with winds under 20, use per instructions. Any winds over 20, I recommend additional bracing. There were moments that I thought it was going to blow away, but it didn't. BTW, we took second place BBRibs out of 40 teams!! BONUS!

5swiss gear canopy nice productDec 02, 2009
last october 2008,I rented an heavy duty canopy 10feet by 15 feet.it was compact and durable. that heavy duty canopy was expensive to rent. so this year 2009 for our party we decided to buy a Swiss gear smart shade because it had nice reviews. This swiss gear canopy is light enough to roll easly with its included bag. When new it needed two people for the canopy to open to full ,but now after a few uses it is easly done by one person. its a well thought out canopy,i know because i rented the commersial type before. That party day has rain and light wind. what a life saver to have this canopy. The picture on display is wrong... it has 6 legs not 4.its more durable this way. Swiss gear made its legs adjustable to different heights, which is great for putting on its canopy on the frame.Once on ,you can raise the whole unit very high over your head. The legs have push release buttons easy lock/unlock for its height. The canopy is held on to the frame by velcro, very nice.No parts to get lost. The canopy is water resistent, easy to clean, nice travel bag with a little extra room just in case you can't fold its canopy just right back inside .Swiss gear unit Can be used on cement or grass, should last a long time. Swiss gear has made a home run with this product.Just take care and not abuse it and it will last for many occacions.Instead of renting just consider this canopy and you will save money.I would not ever buy somtehing unless it shows good for my money.I love this canopy because many reviews were good, looks good for many uses, lasts a long time, well thought out on design and materials .You could buy a little cheaper product but others just don't last like swiss gear.good luck on your decision.

5Durable and well madeNov 30, 2009
We bought this to protect a new (relatively expensive) set of patio furniture until we can build a permanent patio cover. Four months of California sunshine and winds later, it is still performing like the day we set it up. The top shows no signs of wear. The powder coated frame is solid and shows no signs of rust.

It has been up continuously for many months and it looks like it could last for years. This would be great for a tail gate or to shelter a team at a soccer tournament. We have been pleasantly surprised and highly recommend this.

2Not as advertisedOct 06, 2009
All in all, this is an OK pop-up canopy, I guess. Quality is not great, but what you'd expect. The carry duffel tore the first time I put the tent away. My big problem is that it is NOT the tent pictured on this site. This tent has SIX LEGS, not four as the photo shows. For most people, this may not be a big deal. However, it was a big deal for my intended use and Amazon should fix their photos.
