Great for scout campingJul 31, 2010 I bought this product for my nine-year old daughter to take with her on Scout overnights and camp. It works great -- easy to use, easy to pack, easy to clean. Having it come in a colour she likes was bonus.
PerfectJul 29, 2010 The item was delivered earlier than expected, arrived exactly as described (NEW), and a perfect transaction. Thank you!!!!!

Looks nice, useful, but not greatJul 10, 2010 I was quite excited to receive this in time for my car camping trip at Lake Isabella, CA. It was decently light and is pretty compact for what it holds inside.
However, when I started using it, I realized that it is not without it's disadvantages.
Firstly if you eat anything liquid and try to mix it, the triangular shape will cause you to splash it's contents very easily. I experienced the same problem when cleaning - when you reach a corner, water will most likely splash out.
Clean it gently you ask? The biggest issue I had with this container though, is that the material does not clean well. I have to go over it three times with concentrated detergent just to get the smell out. Afterwards, there is still a slippery, oily feel to it. I'm not sure what is causing this, as I've purchased ultra-cheap, disposable air-tight containers that were less of a hassle.
I gave it another chance on a backpacking trip, but now I'm sure I won't be taking this with my anywhere without a kitchen sink.
Lastly, I purchased this along with a Light My Fire Titanium Spork, which I think is great, but it does not fit well inside with all the cups and containers.
All in all, it's a decent, durable, good looking container that's relatively compact, but I would not purchase another one.
Good Mess KitMar 03, 2010 The mess kit was a very good Kit, has everything you need to go Camping or Scouting
I kind of like 2 platesFeb 16, 2010 My family and I find these meal kits to be very useful. We purchased them for an upcoming camping trip, but have been using them around the house to test them out.
After reading the other reviews, we were a little concerned about a few things, but have found that our worries were pointless.
We find the 2 plates to actually be pretty great, especially since you can use one for the main course, and one for dessert or bread or a side dish... Plus, one of the "plates" is quite a bit deeper than the other, and therefore makes a very good bowl. This may leave you wondering what to do with the other smaller bowl, and we haven't needed it yet, but I'm certain a use for it will present itself at one meal or another.
As far as the spork, I would imagine that the kits are exactly the same, (all of the 5 we received are) so I am not certain why anyone would have a problem getting the spoon part of the spork into the corner of any of the dishes. It fits fine, with plenty of room to spare, and the triangle design actually makes scooping things onto the spoon even easier than with most bowls and MUCH easier than with a normal plate. We also have not felt concerned with having to lick the spoon or fork to use the other side (you are eating off the one you have to lick anyway, right?) Using the knife part is a little bit tricky, since you only have one utensil, so you don't have anything to hold food still with while you cut it.
The cup is a little unusual and takes a moment to get used to, and it kind of "glug glug glugs" since there is no air hole/ vent opposite of the spout, but it works well, and if you are using it to measure, there are obvious indentations for this purpose.
Overall we are VERY pleased with these kits, even though we got what we think is the ugliest color -haha- (yellow) because they are so much cheaper than the other colors.
