The sport cap is nice that you don't have to unscrew the top to drink but it makes a weird whistling sound when you drink from the air escaping the relief valve.

Klean Kanteen *RECALL 2.0 CAP* info below
For safety reasons and in cooperation with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Klean Kanteen is recalling the Sport Cap 2.0. Klean Kanteen® has received six consumer reports relating to the spout tip of Sport Cap 2.0 breaking or cracking after being dropped, which could pose a possible choking or ingestion hazard. There have been no incidents of actual choking or ingestion reported.
We at Klean Kanteen apologize both for the inconvenience and the resource footprint of this recall. We take the health and environmental aspects of our products very seriously and the mere possibility of our product harming someone gave everyone at Klean Kanteen pause. The decision to recall and replace caps was really the easy part, running a smooth replacement program is the challenge we are now rising to. We really appreciate your patience and understanding; we'll get you your new Sport Cap(s) as quickly as possible.

One slight problemJul 23, 2010
I purchased the Klean Kanteen Poly Sports 2.0 Cap for my wife to use but unfortunately the breather hole for allowing air in as you drink has a whistle that my wife found obnoxious. I now use the cap, which is a fine product other than the musical accompaniment.

I have three of this Klean Kantin -Kanteens with this Cap: All the three bottles are by now useless because the caps are broken, and I have to buy three new ones for $30... so thank you. I can't recommend the bottle because of the Cap. Consider this: I have three useless, bottles at my home for which I payed with my best money... One can easily understand why they call it "Cap Replacement Bottle Top"..... Buy it, the Cap will get Broken soon, buy a new one. Again: Buy it, the Cap will get broken soon, buy a new one. Again: Buy it, the Cap will get broken soon, buy a new one. etc... so, No, thank you!

I bought two of these for my kid's water bottles so it would be easier for them to drink from without spilling and since the younger one cannot open the twist cap yet. They have worked well and when the recall came out, I looked on the website to see which caps needed to be exchanged. The Kleen Kanteen website clearly stated that if the spout was shiny that it should be returned and if it was matte or dull, then it was not included in the recall. They also had pictures so tht you could compare if you weren't sure if it was shiny or not. I followed the return procedure laid out on the website and returned my caps. It did take a long time to get them back - about 7 weeks, but I like the fact that Klean Kanteen voluntarily recalled the caps evne though no incidents had occurred. In my view, they are a proactive company, and their products are great.
The new caps fit well on the bottles and one spout has been chewed on by younger daughter and is still atached firmly. I like them so much I bought one for my own bottle to use when at the gym.
